Hailing all the way from Vilnius, Lithuania, producer Deep Shoq releases his new EP “Ferrum” on Darker Than Wax label.
“Ferrum” is the unveiling of Deep Shoq’s newer, grittier sound. It reflects a personal concept that represents self-determination, mental and emotional strength. How Ferrum is one of the most common elements on Earth, forming much of Earth’s outer crust and inner core, is also a poetic adaptation of his growth and journey of producing stronger, fundamental sounds.
The 5 track EP is a blistering showcase of percussive, rhythmic textures that drive both the listener and artist – who cites NameBrandSound and Machinedrum as influences in this release. The release evades categorization in any specific genre, but it is built on a strong foundation of bass-inclined UKG and half-stepper vibes.
You must have light in order to cast a shadow, and Deep Shoq’s new darker sound is a glimmering reveal of his refined artistic capabilities.
